Broadway renowned Seth Rudetsky brings his Concert for America to The Bushnell this October. Enjoy an evening of entertainment with stars of film, television, music, comedy and Broadway with the purpose of infusing Americans with hope and inspiration! 

Concert for America benefits a wide array of non-profit organizations serving a diverse audience but all having a similar focus: fighting for civil and human rights for all Americans. Featuring live performances from: Matthew Broderick, Todrick Hall, Holly Near, Maurice Hines, Judy Kuhn, Capathia Jenkins, Beth Malone, Sirius XM Satellite Radio’s Seth Rudetsky, James Wesley, Jennifer Simard, John and Leo Manzari, Jenna Ushkowitz and Rebecca Luker. 

CONCERT FOR AMERICA has been hailed by the New York Times as “striking for its emphasis on the importance of faith in the United States and optimism about its future.”

All proceeds go to these great non-profit organizations as they work to protect the human rights, civil rights, and the environment of all Americans: NCCJNational Coalition Against Domestic ViolenceNational Immigration Law CenterNAACPSouthern Poverty Law Center and Sierra Club.

Jenna Ushkowitz

Getting her start as a child on  Sesame Street, actress, singer and podcaster Jenna Ushkowitz is known for her role as Tina Cohen-Chang on Fox’s Glee and for performances in Broadway musicals including The King and I and Waitress. She has also made appearances in music videos for Lady Gaga and Katy Perry.

Matthew Broderick

Two-time Tony Award winner Matthew Broderick is known for numerous iconic roles in film and on stage, including WarGames, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, The Cable Guy, Disney’s Lion King, Brighton Beach Memoirs, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and the 2001 stage and 2005 film versions of Mel Brooks’ The Producers. Experience his distinct charm and humor at Hartford’s Concert for America this October at The Bushnell. 

Capathia Jenkins

Capathia Jenkins is an American actress and singer know for her work on Broadway, with roles in shows such as Caroline, or Change, Newsies, and Martin Short's Fame Becomes Me. She was also featured in the the 2015 TV movie version of the Wiz Live! and the film Chicago. Her presence and power as a singer is sure to delight at Hartford’s Concert for America at The Bushnell this October.

Rebecca Luker

Nominated for three Tony Awards, Rebecca Luker has appeared in starring roles in The Phantom of the Opera,  The Secret Garden, Show Boat, Nine, The Sound of Music, The Music Man and role in Mary Poppins, Cinderella and Fun Home. She has appeared on TV in such hit shows as  Boardwalk Empire and The Good Wife. An accomplish soprano, Luker’s voice is a treasure that you won’t want to miss! Hear her live at The Bushnell at Hartford’s Concert for America this October. 

Todrick Hall 

Rapper, singer, actor, dancer, choreographer, streamer, director and Broadway regular, Todrick Hall was a popular semi-final contestant on the ninth season of American Idol, and currently is a judge on RuPaul's Drag Race. Hall recently wrapped up a well-received performance as Lola in Kinky Boots, and was recently featured as a back-up dancer in Taylor Swift’s record breaking video ”Look What You Made Me Do”, which as of September has over 105 million views and counting.

Judy Kuhn 

Known for roles in Les Misérables, Chess and FUN HOME, four time Tony Award nominee Judy Kuhn most recently starred as Golde in the critically acclaimed Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof. Also known as the singing voice of Disney's Pocahontas, her performance of “Colors of the Wind” helped win the Academy Award for Best Original Song. Kuhn also appeared in Disney’s Enchanted, and has provided singing for several of their animated films. 


Seth Rudetsky

Musician, actor, writer, radio host, his shows on Sirius XM Satellite Radio’s On Broadway include “Seth’s Big Fat Broadway” and “Seth’s Speaks,” focusing on Rudetsky’s knowledge of Broadway Theatre history and trivia. 


Holly Near

American singer-songwriter, actor, teacher, activist, NCCJ National Human Relations Award winner, and cast member of Hair during its first run on Broadway.​


Maurice Hines

Tap dance legend Maurice Hines’ massive career on stage and screen, and role in Francis Ford Coppola's The Cotton Club, have helped cement his lasting impact on the entertainment world. He directed, choreographed and eventually starred in the musical Uptown… It's Hot!, receiving a 1986 Tony Award nomination as Best Actor in a Musical for the Broadway run. He continues to tour, choreographing, dancing, singing and directing across the country. 


Jennifer Simard

Tony nominated actress for Disaster, and currently on Broadway in Hello Dolly 


Beth Malone

Tony nominated actress for FUN HOME, and known for her role in Ring of Fire.


James Wesley

Playwright, actor and producer, his works include Unbroken Circle and Disaster, which he wrote and produced with husband, Seth Rudetsky. 


John and Leo Manzari

John and Leo Manzari are Helen Hayes Award and Ovation Award nominated tap dancers that have performed for audiences across the country, making various television appearances, including FOX’s So You Think You Can Dance. Together, they received a Shirley Chisholm Trailblazer Award from the National Congress of Black Women that recognizes their distinct careers as tap dancers.
